Interstellar
The Interstellar Fanzine Project is a graphic design series divided into three parts, each offering a unique perspective on the unfolding events of the iconic film narrative. The series uniquely retells the story from three distinct perspectives:
The first fanzine follows the journey of the protagonist, a brave astronaut who faces heart-wrenching decisions as he leaves Earth to save humanity. Through his eyes, readers experience the vastness of space, the isolation of the mission, and the emotional turmoil of being separated from his family.
The second fanzine shifts the lens to his daughter, highlighting the passage of time, feelings of abandonment, and her eventual evolution into a key figure in humanity's survival. This perspective captures the pain of loss, resilience, and the bond between father and daughter despite cosmic distances.
The third and final fanzine imagines an alternate timeline, a speculative reality where the protagonist never leaves for the mission. This narrative explores themes of regret, unrealized potential, and the consequences of inaction, portraying a world doomed by stagnation. Across the three fanzines, bold graphic elements such as layered images, fragmented compositions, and dynamic color schemes emphasize shifts in time, emotion, and reality. Encased in a custom-designed red display box, the series offers a thought-provoking exploration of sacrifice, destiny, and human connection. This immersive experience invites readers to reflect on both personal choices and the weight of responsibility on a universal scale.
